Feral Cat Policies
UCAN'S Feral Cat Policies
These rules have been developed in order to allow us to best care for a difficult population
of animals and still provide safe procedures for our staff. It is very important that you follow
each of these guidelines when bringing feral cats to our clinic.

1) All feral cats brought to our clinic MUST be in a metal Havahart trap. We do not accept feral
cats in carriers, cages, boxes, etc. (Remember: if you can't handle the cat, neither can we!

2) One cat per trap

3) Kittens must be 8 weeks old and weigh two pounds

4) Only two ferals per person per day unless you call first.

5) Feral cats are accepted between 9:00 and 12:00 pm Monday thru Thursday. NO feral cats
are accepted for surgery on Fridays.

6) If the cat is trapped in the morning and you intend to bring it in before 12 pm, please remove
the food used to trap the cat immediately after the cat is caught.

7) Bring the trapped cat in as early as possible, to allow us to work it into our busy surgery schedule.

8) All adult feral cats will be ear-tipped.

9) Bring a carrier if you would like your cat recovered in a carrier vs the trap or if you have used a UCAN
trap and would like your deposit back..

10) ALL FERAL CATS OVER OVER THE AGE OF 12 WEEKS WILL RECEIVE A RABIES VACCINE.
NO EXCEPTIONS.

Pick up time is 7:30am, the day following drop-off

UCAN has feral cat traps that can be loaned out for a $30 CASH deposit. Your money will be
returned when our trap is returned.

If you have any questions regarding these regulations, talk to us first. UCAN reserves the right to
refuse any animal that is determined to be unfit for surgery or does not meet these guidelines.
